Size rugs from Persia

They were originally woven as articles of necessity since were used to cover the floors of nomadic tribesmen. Those pieces had rectangular shape and were produced using simple homemade looms. 

The most common sizes were:

  • Kenareh 75/120 x 300/600 cm 
  • Kelley 100/180 x 300/400 cm   
  • Mianeh 180/240 x 300/700 cm

Goods which were destined for export had different sizes:

  • Zaronin 90/120 x 140/180 cm 
  • Dozar 130/150 x 180/220 cm  
  • Sedjadé 110/130 x 200/220 cm 
  • Qaliceh (small qali) 120/140 x 200/240 cm 
  • Khali 180 x 280 cm

Obviously, made-to-order rugs size suited the customer needs.
